Heckler SCREAMS at Trump: ‘Shove That Ballroom Up Your A**!’
A heckler erupted at President Donald Trump during a Mississippi rally, screaming at him to “shove that ballroom up your a**!” in a fiery protest of his controversial White House renovations.
As Trump has traveled across the country to drum up support for Republican candidates ahead of the midterm elections, his appearances have been repeatedly interrupted by protesters, even in deep-red states.
That pattern continued Monday when Trump headed to Corinth, Mississippi.
Sounding notably hoarse, the president was referencing Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS) during the moment in question, telling the crowd, “At the last — in the last short period of time, we took in over a million jobs. Over a million jobs! I say, ‘I can’t help Cindy Hyde-Smith any better than that.’ I don’t have to stay up here any longer, and what I’ve been doing in the past is walking off the stage to the consternation — ”
At that point in Trump’s sentence, the protester was first heard, though the president did attempt to continue, “To the consternation of the people that protect us.”
“Shove that ballroom up your a**!” the heckler then screamed, to a chorus of boos from the crowd.
“Oh, go home!” Trump responded. “Go home. Go home.”
Laughing, he swatted his hand dismissively and added, “You know they’re paid protesters? They get paid $250 by — they think it’s [George] Soros — and they ruin their lives because now they get booked. Now they get booked. We don’t usually press it too hard, but isn’t that terrible?”
Trump then reenacted the interruption, though he appeared to misremember what he had been discussing just moments earlier: “I was just at the punchline, talking about, ‘And our country must have a beautiful, pristine — it’s a symbol, the White House. The symbol of our — ‘ and then, ‘We don’t want — ‘ These people are sick.”
Significant backlash accompanies Trump’s ballroom project, with the president going so far as to demolish the White House’s East Wing to make room for the massive addition. In August, CNN’s Harry Enten reported that public dissatisfaction with Trump’s renovation projects outweighed satisfaction by 33 points.
