Trump Vents He Warned Macron to Stop Immigration Before Riots: ‘Paris Is Going to Be a Muslim City!’
President Donald Trump weighed in on the riots and protests rocking France on Monday, telling reporters in front of the White House that French President Emmanuel Macron now has a big problem to fix, all because he didn’t listen to his advice on immigration.
Trump said the chaos could have been avoided, if Macron had just stopped immigrants from illegally pouring into his country years ago. The president claimed Macron’s inaction has significantly altered the demographics of Paris.
“He’s a friend of mine. I told him a long time ago, you’re making a big mistake in France. You’re letting everybody from the world come in,” Trump said. “The whole world was coming in. And as you know, Paris is going to be a Muslim city very soon, and that wasn’t the deal. That wasn’t the deal.”
Trump then reiterated he told Macron to “close up” the border when he first took office in 2017.
As for his claim about Paris, it is hard to find great data on it; an estimated 6-7 million Muslims live in France — about twice as many as there were in 1990 — and about one-third of them live in the greater Paris metro area.
The president’s remarks comes after jarring footage showed thousands of protesters and rioters looting businesses, attacking police officers, and burning buildings across France this past weekend.
Fox News correspondent Stephanie Bennett reported on the carnage, revealing more than 600 police officers were injured and nearly 2,000 rioters were arrested between Saturday and Sunday.
Earlier on Monday, Fox News reported dozens of organizations including “revolutionary socialist groups” and “Palestinian-solidarity” movements have been amplifying the riots and protests. The report dubbed the organizations “Chaos Inc.”
Anchor Bill Hemmer read from the report during a segment on America’s Newsroom.
“Of the 54 organizations identified in the October protest ecosystem, 16 — or only about one in three — are student or youth organizations, including communist youth groups and a Muslim student organization,” he said. “The remaining 38 include adult-led communist groups, labor unions, political parties, revolutionary-left organizations, advocacy groups and international propaganda outlets.
