Trump Ties JD Vance to Him: We ‘Disagree on Almost Nothing’

President Donald Trump gave a vote of confidence to his vice president during an Oval Office press conference Tuesday, proclaiming he and JD Vance “disagree on almost nothing.”

The moment came during an announcement of the Fraud Whistleblower Incentive Program, in which the president pledged that anyone who reported fraud to the government successfully would be able to reap up to 1% of the money.

A reporter asked if criminal charges would need to be levied in a case before any money is paid out, prompting Trump to turn to Vance.

“I don’t think so,” Trump said while looking back at Vance.

“That’s the answer,” Vance said quickly, laughing as he told the reporter, “I’d quit while I was ahead.”

Trump then continued.

“I just wanted to — I don’t want to have you say we disagree on something. We disagree on almost nothing,” he said.

“It’s hard to believe. I figured if I answered it quickly, we don’t have a problem. It’s not a criminal thing. We hope that they go to jail. No. If we recover the money, that’s what it is. You get 1%. That includes you. Go ahead, J.D.”

Vance then explained the program was not limited to criminal prosecutions.

“That’s it, sir. Our plan is not to limit this just to criminal prosecutions. As the president said, if you find the money and you help us recover it, you benefit from the program,” he said.

The moment came a day after Vance sat with journalist Mark Halperin for Halperins 2WAY TONIGHT, and said flat out he didn’t know if Trump would endorse him if he ran in 2028.

“I think if I run, the president will endorse me,” Vance told Halperin.

“Right away?” the reporter asked.

“I would think so, but I don’t know, man,” Vance answered. “I haven’t talked to him about it.”

“It’d be kinda weird if you said to him, ‘Mr. President, I’m gonna run,’ and he said, ‘Yeah, let me think about it,’” Halperin said.
