Trump Floats Renaming the Atlantic or Pacific Ocean as the ‘Trump Ocean’: ‘I Think We Should Have an Ocean’

He’s itching to rename another body of water, and President Donald Trump said the Atlantic or Pacific Ocean might be his next target — with the president claiming he might move to rename either one the “Trump Ocean.”

The president announced during a Saturday evening rally in Clarksville, Tennessee he is aiming to change the name of an ocean and a river by the time he leaves office in 2028.

But his admiration for the English explorer whom the Hudson is named after, combined with his love for Mississippi, which he won in the last three elections, make the aforementioned rivers safe, he proclaimed.

“We’ve got the Gulf, we’ve got a beautiful lake, and now somebody said, ‘You need a river,'” Trump said. “I don’t want to change the name of the Hudson River. Henry Hudson, he did a good job sailing up that sucker a long time ago.”

He continued:

So we need a river and we need an ocean. So I was thinking either the Atlantic or the Pacific. We call it Trump Ocean, or Ocean of the Americas. Something like that.

No, before I get out, I think we should have an ocean and we need a great river. Now, I’m not changing the name of the Mississippi. I love Mis. we won that state by so much.

The Hudson and Mississippi Rivers will avoid the same fate as the Gulf of Mexico, which Trump rebranded to the Gulf of America early in his second term. Trump followed that up this year by changing the name of Lake Ontario to Lake America, after a Canada-USA trade deal collapsed at the last minute.

Google and Apple officially changed the name on its maps apps soon after, and the president rubbed it in by posting an AI video of himself kicking over a sign reading “Lake Ontario” in August. The AI version of Trump then celebrated the move by doing his YMCA dance.
