Trump Quips He’s Done ‘Sh*tty Job’ As Prez If New AI-Powered Govt Website Is His Top Accomplishment

President Donald Trump was in a jocular mood on Tuesday morning when he helped unveil America.gov, the new AI-powered website that will allow citizens to type questions into a box and get quick answers on how to handle a range of projects.

The new “front door” to the government will cut out bureaucratic nonsense and make it easy for Americans to order new passports, change their names, or reserve a camping spot at a national park, among other streamlined things, the president said. Trump told the Washington, D.C. crowd “some serious high-tech people” have been raving to him about the site over the past few days and that he was certainly proud of it — but he didn’t want to oversell it, either.

“They say this is one of the most incredible things that your government has done. I don’t think so. I think it’s damn good,” Trump said. “But somebody said, ‘Sir, this is going to be the single biggest thing you’ve done in government!’ I said, ‘I don’t think so.’ But it’s damn good, okay. It’s just another thing, just another thing.”

The comment cracked up a few people in the crowd, while others started to applaud him for it.

He continued to quip, “If it is the biggest thing I’ve ever done, I’ve done a sh*tty job as president, okay?”

Trump joked about some other stuff while he was onstage, like U.S. Chief Brand Architect Peter Arnell having helped design the site — and also having dropped 250 pounds in the time Trump has known him; the president said he liked Arnell at any weight, but his doctor probably preferred the trimmer version.

A few other things stood out from the event, like former White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt returning to host it for Trump. The president was also preceded on stage by motivational speech guru Tony Robbins, who championed Trump for making a “big change” that will make it less annoying to deal with the government; Secretary of State Marco Rubio later came out and championed the new website and the revamped U.S. passport as well.

As for the website being powered by artificial intelligence, that has been a hot topic over the past few weeks. Trump has said calls to regulate AI due to fears it could go rogue are nothing more than a big “HOAX,” and he said last week he is now going to start referring to it as “super intelligence”; AI, Trump said, is “very ineloquent.”
