Trump PAC Forks Out $10 Million for Texas Senate Ads to Boost Ken Paxton in Tight Race Against James Talarico

The super PAC started to get President Donald Trump reelected has finally begun shelling out big bucks to help Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton (R) beat Democratic challenger James Talarico in their heated Senate race, with MAGA Inc. paying a whopping $10 million for TV and online ads in the Lone Star State, according to a Saturday filing with the Federal Elections Commission.

This is the first “significant” move by MAGA Inc. heading into the November midterms, the Associated Press reported. It comes as several recent polls have shown Talarico has a healthy edge on Paxton, whom the president endorsed over the state’s incumbent conservative, Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) earlier this year.

Trump has been watching the Texas race closely, and he warned during a podcast interview last week the Republican Party – and the USA in general — is doomed if Texas turns Blue.

“I will be the last Republican president and our country will live in hell!” Trump said.

The president argued a Democratic triumph in Texas would set off a chain reaction which will lead to Puerto Rico and Washington, D.C. becoming states. He claimed there would be no chance Republicans would ever win national elections again, if that happened.

Trump has also started to bash Talarico a bit more lately, branding him a “weirdo” and “freako” who hates meat and is trying his best to keep his most extreme ideas under wraps until after the election; the president warned Talarico will “revert” to his old ways the moment he wins the election.

“They call him Talafreako — and he is, he’s sort of a freak,” Trump said on Wednesday.

“His whole thing’s a lie. If you look at his statements from two years ago, it was crazy what he was saying. And the one thing I learned about politicians — because I haven’t really been doing this that long, really, you know, guys have been doing it a lot longer than me — but whatever their initial statement, that’s where they belong, that’s where they go back to.”

At the same time, Trump has made fun of Paxton, saying he dresses poorly and voters “might not love his look.” But he said Paxton remains the better choice for Texas, despite his shabby appearance.

And while speaking to reporters on Friday, Trump said he is “going to spend whatever amount of money [is] necessary” to help Republicans like Paxton win.

MAGA Inc. certainly has plenty more leftover to drop on GOP candidates, with the PAC reporting it had $403.5 million at the end of July.
