Trump Official Suggests Administration Boycott Fox News for ‘Helping the Other Side Undermine the President’

Peter Navarro, President Donald Trump’s senior counselor for trade and manufacturing, suggested the administration consider steering clear of Fox News, accusing the network of “helping the other side undermine the president.”

Navarro has publicly feuded with Fox in recent weeks, particularly after the network abruptly parted ways with longtime anchor Maria Bartiromo earlier this month. Bartiromo’s exit came amid reports that she shared confidential Fox Business guidance with Navarro after management nixed a planned interview with him about Trump’s 2020 election claims. The White House official subsequently accused Fox of being hostile to Trump and MAGA, using the departures of Bartiromo, Tucker Carlson, and the late Lou Dobbs as evidence.

Fox publicly characterized Bartiromo’s departure as a “business decision.”

Appearing on MAGA media personality Steve Bannon’s War Room, which airs on Real America’s Voice, Navarro took his criticism even further Wednesday.

“Why are we feeding them talent anymore?” Navarro questioned. “Why do we let anybody in this administration go on their network?”

“Hang on,” Bannon clarified. “Are you saying that the Trump administration should not make members of this administration available?”

“I’m calling for that question to be seriously asked,” Navarro said. “Fox has revealed itself to be essentially undermining the Trump administration.”

“They are unchained right now,” he continued. “Fox News is much more dangerous to MAGA, much more dangerous to the Republican Party, because they wear our colors when they’re, in fact, helping the other side undermine the president.”

The White House official went on to thank Fox for its decision, along with the other four television networks that make up the White House press pool, to effectively suspend pool coverage in protest of the president’s ban on MS NOW, CNN, and Politico, vowing that Real America’s Voice will adequately take its place.

Additionally, he’s authored multiple opinion pieces for The Washington Times on the subject.

The administration has continued to supply guests to Fox in recent days despite grumbling from Navarro and MAGA influencers about Fox joining with the other TV networks for an effective suspension of pool coverage — including First Lady Melania Trump, who appeared on multiple Fox programs Wednesday.
