Trump Mocks Ilhan Omar With iPhone Scammer Meme as Fraud Probe Heats Up
Those annoying “scam likely” calls? President Donald Trump joke embattled Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) is behind them.
The president couldn’t resist making a wisecrack at Omar’s expense on Saturday, as his longtime progressive rival is facing a federal fraud probe over whether she lied about her identity in order to scam her way into the USA.
Trump hopped on Truth Social and posted a meme of Omar’s mug on an iPhone with the words “Scam Likely” flashing across the screen. Omar looked as if she was balding in the unflattering picture, and the meme said the call was coming from Mogadishu, Somalia — where Omar was born and lived before moving to the States back in the ’90s.

Trump’s mini-shot at Omar comes after federal agents raided her Washington, D.C. home earlier this month. Omar is being investigated over claims she lied on her immigration papers in order to obtain citizenship, according to Fox News.
Federal prosecutors referred to the Minnesota Democrat as “Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, a/k/a Ilhan Abdullahi Omar” in a court filing on Wednesday — which is the same last name as her ex-husband and the man alleged to be her brother, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi.
When asked that same day by MS NOW’s Chris Hayes whether she was “married to her brother” Omar answered by saying “Not to my knowledge.”
She has denied any wrongdoing, and claimed the raid showed Trump was trying to “target political enemies and weaponize federal law enforcement.”
Trump and Omar have bashed each other plenty of times over the years, including the president saying last year he did not want more Somalis like Omar moving to the States.
“They contribute nothing. I don’t want them in our country, I’ll be honest with you,” Trump said. “Some will say that is not ‘politically correct.’” I don’t care. Their country is no good for a reason.”
During a Fox News interview last week, White House Border Czar Tom Homan said Omar is facing the very real possibility her citizenship will be stripped.
“She’ll be held to the same standards you and I are held: if she violated the law, then she should be held accountable,” he told the show.
Co-host Tomi Lahren followed up and asked, “Would this involve denaturalizing and then deporting her, if it does turns out there is some kind of immigration fraud?”
“Of course,” Homan answered. “If you lie during the naturalization process, there is a process to denaturalize somebody. We’ve done it before, it’s a long, tedious process, but it’s been done before. I’ve been involved with those investigations before, and certainly, if the evidence points that way, that could happen.”
Later on Saturday during a rally in Georgia, Trump mocked Omar for her answer to Hayes. He said if someone asked if he married one of his sisters, he would immediately say “no.”
