Trump Hints at ‘Some Big Surprises’ Coming In a ‘Few Weeks’ Before the Midterm Election

Does President Donald Trump have some tricks up his sleeve?

It sounds like it, after the president teased his administration has some history-making “big surprises” to unveil in the weeks leading up to the 2026 midterms. Trump, during a Tuesday afternoon speech in Sparrows Point, Maryland, said the mystery revelations will be coming from Russell Vought, the director of the U.S. Office of Management and Budget.

“We have some big surprises coming up in another few weeks, right Russ?” Trump said, as he rattled off the names of several administration members in the crowd. “He’s gonna be one of the very important people in the history of our country, in my opinion. He’s got some great things happening.”

The president did not expand on what announcement Vought will be making.

He moved on to saluting Hung Cao, the acting secretary of the Navy, and several members of the Baltimore Ravens, who were in attendance. Trump also gave a shoutout to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth and riffed the media was using the “politically correct” term for his job. not “Secretary of War,” as he rechristened the position last year; Trump said he actually thinks it’s more “politically incorrect” to use the old term than the new one.

All of this happened while Trump donned a red USA hat and addressed a crowd full of Navy service members; a massive military ship loomed over Trump as he made his speech.

It also comes as Trump is darting around the country in an attempt to rally support for Republicans heading into November. Trump has made stops in Alabama, Nebraska, and Texas in the past week, as well as a weekend rally in Ohio where he declared the GOP was going to shock the world and “shove it up their a**” in November.
