Trump Caps Off Stunning 9 Post Spree By Flat Out Writing Off AI Fears as a ‘HOAX’: Tech ‘Will Not Be Stopped’

President Donald Trump is already tired of the calls to regulate the artificial intelligence industry.
Trump capped off a blistering Truth Social spree on Monday with a post declaring the fear of an AI doomsday scenario — where the tech goes rogue and wipes out humanity — is nothing more than a “HOAX,” just like he describes claims he schemed with Russia’s Vladimir Putin to steal the 2016 election.
The president vowed he has no plans to curtail the industry, despite top tech execs like Elon Musk and OpenAI CEO Sam Altman throwing their support behind AI regulation last weekend. But Trump said those calls for more oversight made him skeptical.
“Concerning AI, when, in the History of Business, did anyone see the Leaders of an Industry call for Regulation that, if strongly implemented, will drive them into oblivion and bankruptcy?” Trump posted.
He continued, “AI taking over the World, destroying Humanity, and all other things bad, is a HOAX, no different from RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA — UKRAINE, UKRAINE, UKRAINE — IMPEACHMENT HOAX #1 — IMPEACHMENT HOAX #2 — and all of the other HOAXES and SCAMS that America was forced to endure through the Destructionists’ and Deviants’ foul play and illegal conduct.”
Trump vowed he will never block AI progress, especially since the U.S. is battling China for AI supremacy:
President Xi, of China, just announced that China will be doing absolutely nothing to stand in the way of AI, or its future. Google has recently stated that they want to build a massive Plant in Finland, all because they are finding permitting too difficult in the United States.
I am not happy about this, and want them to change their thinking. AI, and Data Centers, will be the Greatest Economic Development Engine in History — Bigger than Oil, Gold, Diamonds, or even the Internet. It will not be stopped by brilliantly run Destructive Forces during the Term of President DONALD J. TRUMP!
The president’s anti-regulation post tripled down on comments he has made over the past 24 hours. He first scoffed at regulating AI on Sunday while speaking to reporters in Ireland, and he followed that up with a post earlier on Monday saying the best AI guardrail was a “STRONG AND SMART (High IQ!) PRESIDENT” like himself.
Trump’s reaction comes after Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei wrote on Saturday “we must slow down the pace” of AI development to make sure it doesn’t go off the rails. His argument was quickly endorsed by Musk and Altman — two rivals who rarely agree on anything in public.
“I believe that AI could cure most major diseases in the next 5–10 years, greatly accelerate economic growth rates, create a world of abundance and empowerment, and usher in a renaissance of democracy and freedom,” Amodei wrote in a lengthy post.
But he also warned AI could progress too fast, leading to a “misalignment” with humans that risks “catastrophic damage.”
“Like many technologies before it, AI brings risks, and because it is such a powerful technology, these risks are serious… They include the risk of losing control of AI systems, misuse of AI for cyberattacks and bioterrorism, and serious economic disruption. A race to the bottom, spurred by commercial incentives, can make these risks more acute,” Amodei wrote.
His warning was immediately slapped on headlines worldwide.
Musk over the last decade has similarly warned AI, if not harnessed properly, could wipe out humans. He testified in his lawsuit against OpenAI earlier this year he was worried about a “Terminator outcome” where the technology could go rogue and “kill us all.” He has said at other times he pegs the likelihood AI kills off all humans at between 10-20%.
Amodei’s post came as regulating AI has a hot topic over the past month, following a former Anthropic researcher warning AI could “kill us all by the end of the decade.” One day later, a former OpenAI researcher told Joe Rogan AI was “basically on a track” to take control away from humans.
As for Trump, his AI post followed eight other posts which included him bashing ex-President Joe Biden and bragging about the U.S. having a record number of “Exquisite” weapons.
