The wife of New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) has been creating art for a “virulently anti-Israel olive oil company that celebrates Palestinian violence, trades in antisemitic imagery, and sells expensive bottles that celebrate an OG Palestinian terrorist who shot down a British plane,” according to a Wednesday report from The Washington Free Beacon’s Jon Levine.

NYC First Lady Rama Duwaji has made two at least two illustrations for Olive Odyssey, a Wyoming-based company which says on its website it is a “gateway for Palestinian farmers.” She has made both contributions to the company since October 2025, a month before her husband was elected mayor.

Near Duwaji’s bio on the company’s website, Levine found Olive Odyssey sells a $62 bottle of extra virgin oil featuring a portrait of Khalil Abu Osba, who is described on the website as “Palestinian resistance fighter.” But the website bio left out some grizzly details.

When contacted by Levine, Olive Odyssey “directed us to the Instagram video of Lubna Abu-Osba, who described Khalil as her grandfather and talked about how she was approached by Faour, who asked to commemorate him.”

The report continued:

“She did a drawing of my grandfather, and she put it on a bottle of olive oil. And I could not be more honored that she did that, and that his legacy after 75 years is still in Palestine,” Lubna Abu-Osba said in the video.

She has elaborated on that legacy on Instagram, boasting to her followers in a post from August 2019 about her grandfather’s violent history during the British Mandate for Palestine.

“My grandfather, Khalil Ahmed Abu-Osba, he fought in the resistance and shot a British plane out of the sky with his rifle, he was sentenced to death, and imprisoned in Acre, he escaped with 3 other freedom fighters. He tried with all courage and might to #freepalestine . He was a #palestinianhero and looked damn good doing it! #Inspiration,” wrote Lubna Abu-Osba in a post which showed her grandfather brandishing a pistol.

Olive Odyssey’s social media accounts have also posted “cartoonishly anti-Israel” content, including a picture of Israel as a skull with dead Palestinians in its mouth. Other posts bashed Israel for being a “zionist state” and used the phrase “From the river to the sea” in Arabic. Olive Odyssey’s website also griped about “Israeli salad,” which it said “stripped” the salad of its Palestinian “roots” and cynically “repackaged” it.

The Free Beacon’s report coincided with Mamdani getting slammed for his post on the anniversary of the October 7 terror attack in Israel. Critics from both the left and right said the mayor minimized the murder of about 1,200 people by fixating on Israel’s “devastating, ongoing genocide” in Gaza in his post.
