Peter Navarro Tells Bill O’Reilly Trump Admin Is ‘Worried’ About China Interfering in Midterms
Trump trade advisor Peter Navarro revealed the White House is concerned about China meddling in the 2026 midterm elections during a Thursday interview with Bill O’Reilly.
“They have the capabilities [to interfere] and we’re worried about this coming election in ’26 and again in ’28,” Navarro said.
He told the ex-Fox News host that President Donald Trump is well aware of the Chinese threat, since the country’s communist regime already interfered with the 2020 presidential election.
In July, the Trump administration accused China of creating “tens of thousands” of fake driver’s licenses in 2020 to help Chinese nationals vote for then-candidate Joe Biden. The White House shared a trove of documents to back up the claim, and also accused the Chinese government of stealing voter registration data from 220 million Americans.
China orchestrated the scheme by collecting user data from millions of TikTok users, allowing the Chinese government to use the identities of real Americans to create bogus licenses, according to the FBI. The feds said names and addresses were part of the stolen TikTok data, as well as which devices the users accessed TikTok on.
Navarro told O’Reilly it isn’t shocking to believe China will try to sabotage the election again, considering it screws the USA on a daily basis.
“They attack us everyday,” Navarro said. They’re hacking our financial system, they steal our intellectual property, they massively subsidize industries and put ours out of business.”
His warning about China comes a week after Chinese President Xi Jinping visited the States. Trump said afterward that Xi’s three-day trip was “very productive” for both countries, and China’s foreign ministry added it “respects” Trump changing the name of artificial intelligence to “super intelligence.”
In semi-related news, most election experts have said things aren’t looking good for Trump and the Republicans heading into November. Earlier this week, CNN data guru Harry Enten warned a “blue wave” is about to hit the GOP, and Nate Silver said on Thursday “every indicator” is bad for the Republicans, except one: they have a lot more money to spend than the Democrats.
