Nancy Mace Defends Sydney Sweeney After ‘Hall Monitor’ Sharon Stone Bashed Her Naked Gambling Ad

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) to Sharon Stone: Leave Sydney Sweeney alone!

The Republican lawmaker came to the defense of Sweeney on the Monday episode of her Get Maced YouTube show, saying Stone is nothing but a big hypocrite for criticizing Sweeney’s viral naked gambling ad. Mace said it was amusing Stone complained about it, considering she rocketed to fame thanks to the infamous 1992 scene in Basic Instinct where she was not wearing panties.

“The Sharon Stone that made a career out of uncrossing her legs. Yeah, that one, lecturing Sydney Sweeney… the woman who’s entire cultural nuclear weapon was uncrossing her legs in a police station for the whole world to see,” Mace vented. “The woman who made America forget the plot of a movie because of the way she spread her legs. That woman is now the hall monitor.”

She also said she didn’t understand all the complaining about the ad, which Mace said was “sexy.”

Mace was responding to Stone calling out Sweeney at an event hosted by Variety recently. Stone said the 29-year-old starlet needs to “take responsibility” for the ad, which showed Sweeney holding up two footballs to her bare chest and lounging around the locker room in the buff.

“We can’t denigrate women’s sports to get men’s attention so they can gamble,” Stone said.

The ad, for sports betting app Novig, was skewered by several female athletes as well.

One female surfer from Australia told CNN the “hypersexualized” ad was “very, very damaging, especially for young females.” Another Aussie Olympian complained the ad was a “kick in the face to every woman who has dedicated her life to perfecting her craft.”

But Mace wasn’t buying it. She said those gripes reflected how warped “the new feminism” is, where “It’s not ‘My Body, My Choice.’ It’s ‘My body, My choice — Her body, My choice.'”

She continued, “That’s what modern day feminists are offering you — telling you how to dress, how to market, telling you what to wear, and when they don’t like what you wear, criticizing you.”

Mace said she has dealt with this firsthand, like when women were “chastising” her for getting a bunch of tattoos.

“They’re not protecting women,” Mace added. “They’re rating the competition because they’re jealous, or actually because they’re jealous plus Sydney Sweeney is a registered Republican.”
