JUST IN: Trump to Meet With Mamdani in NYC Monday

President Donald Trump and New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani (D) are expected to meet when the president visits The Big Apple on Monday, according to multiple reports on Sunday.
The reunion comes after the pair have met multiple times at the White House over the last year, including a very chummy summit which turned into a borderline lovefest last November, where Trump joked about Mamdani calling him a “fascist” previously. They now plan on reuniting at Gracie Mansion, the mayor’s official residence on the Upper East Side.
“The meeting will focus on issues affecting New York City and New Yorkers,” the mayor’s office said in a statement shared with the New York Post.
This will be the first time Trump has met with Mamdani in his hometown. It will follow months of Trump ripping democratic socialists, after a handful won Democratic primaries. Mamdani is also a proud democratic socialist, and Trump sarcastically congratulated him on getting “3 solid Communists” elected in NYC back in June.
Trump has ramped up the shots at the socialists since then, and he warned over the summer communists are starting to make “their move” in the USA.
“The game is on,” Trump posted. “Enjoy watching!”
He later called socialism and communism a “cancer” which must be dealt with ASAP during his Fourth of July address, and he followed that up during a July rally by saying it is really easy to understand: “With communism, everything turns to sh*t!”
And while Trump and Mamdani appear to be two pals whenever they meet, the mayor has continued to slam many of Trump’s policies. Last week, he sued the Trump administration over its crackdown on illegal immigration, claiming the federal government has waged a “campaign of violence and terror” since the president returned to Washington, D.C.
It’ll be worth seeing if their third meeting is as friendly as the first two.
