Andrew Day, a senior editor at The American Conservative, tore into President Donald Trump on Thursday for ranting about musician Bruce Springsteen while the country was “at war” and facing a “global economic catastrophe.”
After Trump attacked Springsteen in a Truth Social rant, likening the musician to a “dried-up prune who has suffered greatly from the work of a really bad plastic surgeon,” Day pleaded with Trump to focus on the more important issues at hand.
“Trump’s latest. Feel like I’m going crazy. Does the White House somehow not understand that we are at war with a middle power, the war has widened to over a dozen countries, and global economic catastrophe looms?” he questioned. “This is a dangerous and complex moment and they need to FOCUS.”
Earlier this week, co-founder of The American Conservative Scott McConnell opened up about feeling “ashamed and embarrassed to have voted three times” for Trump.
McConnell also urged Vice President JD Vance to attempt to oust Trump using the 25th Amendment.
The American Conservative was founded in 2002 as an anti-neoconservative and anti-war conservative magazine.
In his rant against Springsteen on Thursday, Trump wrote, “Bad, and very boring singer, Bruce Springsteen, who looks like a dried-up prune who has suffered greatly from the work of a really bad plastic surgeon, has long had a horrible and incurable case of Trump Derangement Syndrome, sometimes referred to as TDS.”
“The guy is a total loser who spews hate against a President who won a Landslide Election, including the popular vote, all Seven Swing States, and 86% of the Counties across America,” he continued. “Under Sleepy Joe and the Dems, our Country was DEAD, and now we have the ‘hottest’ Country, by far, anywhere in the World. MAGA SHOULD BOYCOTT HIS OVERPRICED CONCERTS, WHICH SUCK. SAVE YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY. AMERICA IS BACK!!!”
