Dem Candidate Goes Viral for Wacky, Utterly Bizarre Rant About Republicans

Well, that was interesting.

A Democratic candidate in Indiana went on an absolutely wacky rant against MAGA Republicans in a local TV interview, slamming them for “stealing people’s jobs” and for giving President Donald Trump the green light to sic ICE on illegal immigrants, before going on a tangent about an unnamed sheriff’s relative threatening to “blow” her head off.

Jaime West — a Dem candidate for Fayette County Council — ended her interview with an ominous warning to her MAGA rivals: “We have guns too!”

West then literally threw up both of her hands.

The totally bizarre tirade happened during an Oct. 9 interview hosted by Amy Graham-McCarty, managing editor of the Connersville News Examiner; it was broadcast on LocalTV3 in Connersville, Indiana, more than an hour east of Indianapolis.

West’s segment got off to peculiar start when she was asked to read her opening statement. She said she didn’t write one, so she was just going to speak from the heart, before mentioning she ran a small cleaning business and was the mother of three grown children — all of whom were “pretty successful,” she added.

Things got really interesting a few minutes later when Graham-McCarty asked her about a potentially “unpopular” move she would make that she believed would be in the best interest of Fayette County.

West seemed a bit thrown off by it. She groaned loudly and asked to hear the question again, before revealing her big solution.

“Firing all Republicans,” West said. “I mean, I don’t even talk to them. I don’t like them.”

She continued, “What do you want me to say? I don’t like being around them. I mean, ya’ll did this to us, you all voted for us [sic], you made this happen, this ICE coming into our community, stealing people’s jobs.”

West then slapped her hands down on the table and let out a giant “UGHHHHH.” Her answer then took a dark turn.

“I’ve been threatened so many times to my face by MAGA, we’ll call ’em. Because there’s Republicans who actually get it, you know. There are good Republicans out there. But then there are these MAGAs, who are just racist and aren’t very intelligent at all. They call you names — you know, the sheriff’s nephew threatened to blow my head off! But, you know, what are you going to do?”

It sounded like Graham-McCarty let out a bit of a stunned gasp as West said she had been threatened. Graham-McCarty regrouped and closed the interview by asking for West’s “last words” to the voters.

“Hmmm. We have guns too!” West answered.

She stared into the camera as the host told viewers the election was on Nov. 3.

West did not immediately respond to Mediaite’s request for comment.
