Rep. Angie Craig (D-MN) called out her fellow Democrats for cozying up to socialist streamer Hasan Piker in a Saturday post on X, saying her party was committing a hypocritical error by allowing him to campaign alongside Dems heading into the midterms.

“As Democrats, we constantly criticize the far-right for their incendiary and discriminatory politics, but we need to hold ourselves to the same standard,” Craig posted. “Hasan Piker’s rhetoric is polarizing and dangerous, and embracing him as a party is a mistake.”

Craig added she was “disappointed” the Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor Party was going to have Piker appear at an upcoming event. Piker is slated to join Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) and state Senator Omar Fateh (D) during an Oct. 26 forum where they will “discuss Minneapolis, politics and our community.”

Beyond the event with Omar and Fateh, Piker has hit the campaign trail with a number of Dem candidates this year, including Thanksgiving hater-turned-lover Francesca Hong (D) in Wisconsin and Michigan Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed (D). But Piker’s past comments have led to some questioning how wise it is for Dems to embrace him.

Piker claimed during a September interview with Axios the USA is “pound for pound” worse than Al-Qaeda, and he’s made similar comments before that, like when he said the USA “deserved” the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

The Twitch star has also declared he has “no patriotism” in his heart for America and that he hates the nation, while prominently displaying a framed newspaper showing the Twin Towers burning right behind him on his shows.

El-Sayed has been forced to try and distance himself from Piker since they campaigned together a few months back, and he has seemed pretty irritated when asked about their ties during recent media interviews.

“With all due respect, this is the third time you’ve asked about a Twitch streamer in California,” he huffed at CBS reporter Weijia Jiang last month.

As for Craig, she has represented Minnesota in the House since 2019. She lost to Peggy Flanagan in the Dem primary earlier this year, and her term as a representative is set to end in early 2027.
