The Daily Beast Kills the Natalie Harp Narrative with a Content-Free Report Rooted In Fiction

For weeks, Natalie Harp has been the nonsensical focus of the media. Rather quickly, most people could see there was nothing behind all of the media hype centered on this presidential aide. It took the press a lot longer to grasp that there was no story, and little public interest, if any, in the woman they insisted was worthy of focus.

Now we can replace the book on Harp on the shelf without going to the checkout counter. The Daily Beast, in a dose of desperation, tries to keep the Natalie Harp narrative going, and instead displays all of the vacuousness behind the headlines bearing her name.

Ewan Palmer, scraping as much forced excitement as he could from the bottom of this canister, details for us the latest update on the White House figure. It turns out that Natalie Harp has…returned to the White House…with President Trump.

That’s it. Members of the White House returned to the White House after a trip away from the White House. This is apparently significant, as it is Natalie Harp who returned to the White House.

You can see Palmer trying to extend the suggestive nature of things this past month, as this non-report has the snarky GETTING COZY category heading. The sub header also lowers into the lurid levels by saying “The pair were together again while traveling back from North Carolina.”

You mean to say President Trump was seen returning from an official visit with one of his closest advisors? That almost never happens – every single time he travels…

This is such a vacuous report that we have to surmise the impetus for the rice cake-quality of news content. Palmer leads with the previous non-story of that obviously fake photo that was circulating this week, portraying the president nuzzling up to a comely blonde. The White House dismissed the ridiculousness of this image, and Ewan himself attests that the fraudulent nature was “obvious.”

So why even write this? Is the suggestion that after that AI shot circulated – which never even displays Natalie Harp’s visage – she should not have been seen with the president? They had already traveled; was she to remain in Gastonia?

There are not only zero calories in this nothing burger, but the plate it is served on is shown to be entirely artificial. The rest of the piece is filler, rehashing past un-newsworthy details on the woman, including a flat-as-tap-water quote from her brother.

There was nothing to say, and yet the Daily Beast is here shouting it. This should stand as the final course of this extravagant Natalie Harp service that never delivered anything tangible to consume. We rise from the table still peckish about why we were ever made to care.

This is an opinion piece. The views expressed in this article are those of just the author.
