Not How It Is Done: CNN’s Erin Burnett Tries to Disprove Non-Citizens Are Voting, But Does the Opposite

As the SAVE Act continues to be in limbo in Congress, the impending midterm elections keep the spotlight on the contentious issue of non-citizens having access to ballots. CNN anchor Erin Burnett attempted to weigh in on the matter, and instead face-planted like a skateboarder with an inner ear issue.

The aspect that she leaned on for entry into the talks was the proposal to have DHS agents scan voting rolls for non-citizens who may be, well, illegally registered to vote. This bothers Burnett, for some reason, and that alone deserves to be addressed.

What precisely is wrong with having federal agents ensure that those who are voting are doing so rightfully and legally?! It is a deeply curious position to take to want to battle against such actions, yet here she is doing just that.

Her introductory argument is that they are doing this “despite a lack of evidence of major fraud, or any widespread fraud at all.” She goes on to say that these agents have been reassigned from other “important” duties. Then Burnett makes a completely disqualifying decision.

In order to buttress her position that these non-citizens voters are pure figments and do not exist, she brought on an expert on the topic: New Jersey Governor Mikie Sherrill (D).

Ummm…Erin?

Maybe if you want to make the faux claim that no non-citizens are voting, it is bad form to bring on the woman who had to recently admit that they literally found thousands of non-citizens registered on her state’s voting rolls. What next? Will you address the fiction of people driving while impaired in Florida by speaking with Tiger Woods?

The hilarity is when the governor says she has asked for evidence of these claims. Mikie Sherrill said that. The woman who gave a press conference attesting that her state had thousands of non-citizens registered to vote as the result of a software error. Today she needs evidence.

She then goes on to say she refused to turn over New Jersey’s voter rolls to the federal agencies. So, she blocks the feds from looking over her registration lists (which, again, she has admitted had non-citizens), then complains they have not given her any evidence – that she blocked them from obtaining.

Sherrill later went on to say that her constituents want a transparent and accountable government. She accuses President Donald Trump of hiding the ball, as she throws said ball in a lockbox and hides it in a closet.

What these two end up doing is making an admission I am certain they do not want revealed. Sherrill and Erin Burnett are making the case that this effort by the president is an attempt to steal an election. Well then, what is the conclusion of this claim?

They are effectively saying that if the non-citizens who are voting get removed, that will negatively impact the returns for the Democratic Party. If removing non-citizens only impacts one party, what does that say? Like a deflection off a Jack Hughes stick past teammate Jake Allen, that message from Sherrill is an own goal.

This tacit admission exposes all of the outrage felt about efforts at purging non-citizens off of voting rolls. Mikie Sherrill says removing the illegals is “stealing” an election. Erin Burnett says it is a non-existent problem, as she brings on the governor who already admitted the problem happened in real life.

And these are the minds accusing others of deception.
