Laura Ingraham must think her viewers are stupid.
For the second straight night, the Fox News host claimed she has always been against the Iran war.
During Monday’s edition of The Ingraham Angle, she declared, “I’ve not been for the war in Iran.” Moments later, she added, “From day one.”
On Tuesday’s show, she repeated this claim during an interview with a Republican senator.
“And you all know my views on the Iran war,” Ingraham said. “I wasn’t a fan of starting it in the first place, going in there in the first place. I understand– you know, I don’t see the intelligence, but that was my view.”
If that was indeed her view “From day one,” you’d never know it from watching her program.
A mere three days after President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu launched the war on Friday, Feb. 28, Ingraham expressed full-throated support for it on Monday, March 2.
“Only a few days into military strikes, none of the major objections to this action withstand serious scrutiny,” she said on her Fox News show at the time.
On March 5, she slammed former President Joe Biden for not taking a harder stance on Iran.
“Biden’s Iran strategy, turns out it was no strategy at all, as Politico even noted in 2024,” she said at the time while saying Trump had won the war. “The truth is our military’s primary objective, eliminating Iran’s nuclear program, eliminating Iranian ballistic missiles and future production, and eliminating their interceptors, taking out their Navy.”
On April 8, Ingraham praised Trump again, saying that Iran has “been neutered or close to it. That is ultimately a huge gift to future generations in the region and here in the United States.” She then conceded, “Things are gonna be bumpy for a bit as negotiations continue.”
Ingraham has occasionally questioned Trump’s rosy assessments of the war. For example, on multiple occasions, she asked how Iran – if its military has been destroyed, as the president has claimed – is still hitting assets in the Gulf region. And in early March, she called for an investigation into how a U.S. missile ended up hitting a school in southern Iran, killing 123 children.
But in none of these critiques did Ingraham say she opposed the war itself. Publicly, she supported it as her remarks early on clearly demonstrate. Had Ingraham stated that she opposed Trump’s war on day one, as she claims, that would have been the lead story on this website within minutes of it happening.
What Ingraham doesn’t seem to want to admit is that she backed yet another military misadventure with a country whose name begins with “I-r-a.” During the run-up to the Iraq war in 2002 and 2003, Ingraham was a zealous backer of that catastrophic endeavor. In 2003, she even wrote a book called Shut Up and Sing, a dig at the Dixie Chicks, who had the temerity to speak out against then-President George W. Bush and his dumb war, which began 10 days later.
Ingraham has since retracted her support for the Iraq war.
“Now, I was one of those lured into the naïve ideas about Iraq and even nation-building,” she said on her show in January 2022. “I finally saw the light, thank goodness.”
And in May of that year, she even asked why no one had been “held accountable” for the Iraq war.
But for some reason, when it comes to her previous, well-documented support for the Iran war, Ingraham has chosen a different tack: just lie to her viewers.
