Trump Plays Superhero in Nutty White House Vid Showing Him as DC Comics’ Green Lantern

Critics slammed the White House for a wacky AI-generated video of President Donald Trump as DC Comics’ famed superhero Green Lantern — complete with Trump using the iconic character’s ring to build a border wall and shine a light on American manufacturing.

The Sunday night post ripped off Green Lantern’s oath for its caption, and shows Trump raising his hand — with a glowing green ring on his finger — to his face.

“In brightest day, in blackest night, no evil shall escape my sight. Let those who worship evil’s might beware my power… Green Lantern’s light!” read the post, which had more than 21 million views by Monday morning.

Trump then uses the ring to build what appears to be a border wall in the desert, and cast a green light over American “manufacturing” as military aircraft can be seen flying overhead.

The post came amid a ream of AI-made slop on Trump’s Truth Social account and hours after HBO Max aired the latest episode of Lanterns, based on the Green Lantern story.

MeidasTouch founder Ron Filipkowski roasted the White House for the video.

“The government of the United States of America. The idiots are in charge,” he wrote.

Axios’s White House reporter Marc Caputo noted the timing of the Green Lantern video and referenced political scientist and Dartmouth prof Brendan Nyhan’s “Green Lantern” theory of politics — which espouses the thinking that presidents could do more if they tried.

“Checking in on @BrendanNyhan, who had coined the term Green Lantern Theory of Politics a while ago,” Caputo wrote on X with a screenshot of Nyhan’s theory.

Green Lantern’s power is typically only limited by his willpower. The character, considered an intergalactic first, appeared in 1940.

The HBO Max show has courted some controversy by retelling the decades-old character’s arc, and reframing it around race.
