Trump Flat Out Declares ‘Voting in America is CORRUPT’ in Stunning Post

President Donald Trump declared “Voting in America is CORRUPT” in a late-night Truth Social post on Sunday as he seized on Brazil’s presidential election to renew his attacks on the way ballots are counted in the United States.
The post came as Trump ally Flávio Bolsonaro, the son of former Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro, emerged ahead of incumbent President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva in Brazil’s first round. With virtually all ballots counted, Bolsonaro took about 47% of the valid vote to Lula’s roughly 45%. Neither cleared the 50% threshold required for an outright victory, sending the two men into an October 25 runoff.
The president, meanwhile, offered no evidence for his claim of corruption but highlighted that Brazil’s results were available “shortly after the vote closed, on the SAME DAY!” before turning his attention to U.S. elections.
Trump singled out Detroit, Philadelphia and California, claiming without evidence that officials in Democratic-controlled jurisdictions “take weeks to Rig” elections before concluding: “Voting in America is CORRUPT!!!”

Trump initially appeared to confuse Brazil with India in his Truth Social post, writing that 125 million people had voted in the first round of “India’s Presidential Election.” Brazil, not India, held a presidential election Sunday.
The president later reposted the message with the country corrected.
Brazil operates a nationwide electronic voting system that allows results to be tabulated and transmitted quickly after polls close. The U.S., by contrast, administers elections under different state laws, including varying rules governing when mail ballots can be processed and counted. Those differences can cause complete results to take longer in some jurisdictions.
Trump has repeatedly attacked mail-in voting and pushed for tighter federal election rules ahead of the November midterms. His latest broadside follows a Supreme Court setback last month over his administration’s effort to impose new restrictions on mail ballots.
