Laura Loomer Hammers JD Vance After He Calls Tucker Carlson ‘a Friend’: ‘Kiss of Death’

Trump loyalist Laura Loomer turned her fire on Vice President JD Vance on Thursday after he refused to cut ties with longtime “friend” Tucker Carlson, warning the presumed 2028 contender that when it comes to choosing between President Donald Trump and his increasingly hostile former ally, the time for “picking sides” is “now.”
Vance was pressed on the relationship during Thursday’s White House press briefing, amid Carlson’s increasingly bitter break with Trump and criticism of the administration.
“Everybody knows that Tucker Carlson and I are friends, and I think it’s very obvious that Tucker has said some things that I disagree with. He said some things about the President of the United States that I think are just wrong,” Vance told reporters.
Carlson, once one of Trump’s most influential media allies, has called for the president’s impeachment and sharply attacked him in recent months. He has also drawn accusations of antisemitism in his criticism of Israel.
But Vance made clear that Carlson’s political attacks would not end their friendship.
“So yeah, Tucker is a friend of mine. Tucker is a friend, despite the fact that we disagree on a number of things. And I’m not gonna play the game where I throw friends under the bus because I have political disagreements with them,” Vance said.
That defense quickly drew the ire of Loomer, a staunch Trump insider who has repeatedly clashed with Carlson, particularly over Israel.
“President Trump @POTUS should be @JDVance’s friend too, yet @TuckerCarlson is out here calling for President Trump to be impeached everyday and said Trump is the anti-Christ and even suggested that Trump is a pedophile. There is a time for picking sides and now is the time. Especially for someone who wants to be President in 2028,” Loomer wrote on X.
Loomer followed with an even more explicit warning that any “endorsement” of Vance in a hypothetical 2028 campaign is the “kiss of death”:
In another tweet, Loomer said she “can’t imagine why anyone who is actually loyal to President Trump would want to be friends with Tucker Carlson.”
“I’ve ended friendships over less,” she added.
Carlson, she warned, is a “litmus test” on whether Vance has the “courage” to be president:
Vance has not announced a 2028 presidential campaign, but his position as Trump’s vice president has inevitably placed him among the most prominent prospective contenders to succeed him.
