It’s Been Nearly 2 Weeks Since Ex-Fetterman Staffers Promised to Dish the Dirt on X — What Happened to Them?

A day after the Wall Street Journal published a scathing report on Senator John Fetterman (D-PA), a mysterious X account called “Former Fetterman Staffers” materialized to claim the worst about the hoodie-clad lawmaker was yet to come.

The Sept. 4 WSJ report claimed Fetterman whined about attending a funeral for three fallen police officers when he learned how long it would be, ducked a group of paralyzed veterans who traveled from Pennsylvania to D.C. to meet with him, and often leaves hearings shortly after checking in, to name a few of the allegations.

The hits on his character prompted Fetterman to slam the article as “lies, half-truths, innuendos, smears and anonymous.”

The day after the story was published, the new X account @FettermanStaff made the scene, and raised eyebrows across the internet.

“Hello, Twitter. We’re a group of former campaign & Senate staffers for John Fetterman who are disgusted with what he’s become,” the account posted on Sept. 4. “If you were troubled by yesterday’s Wall Street Journal story… trust us, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. It’s even worse than you thought.”

A second post immediately followed, saying, “We’ve come together to share our stories (and screenshots 👀) to show Pennsylvanians exactly who their Senator is. Set your calendar for September 14th — the day the Senate is back in session — for our first drop. (Let’s be honest, maybe the 15th: he’ll skip Monday’s votes)”

The posts gathered more than 14 million views combined and sparked immediate speculation: Who are they? What do they know?

And is it possible this whole thing is just another elaborate internet hoax?

Not so, two former staffers told The New York Times, saying the account was exactly what it claimed.

Still, the Senate’s return has come and gone. Those who marked their calendars for the Sept. 14/15 drop got nothing — and as of Wednesday, are still waiting.

So where are they?

The account has not posted anything since. Not a peep. The lights are on at “Former Fetterman Staffers,” but no one is home.

Mediaite tried to send a message to the account, but its inbox is closed.

While the political world waits for word from the former staffers, Fetterman himself raged at reporters asking if he intends to switch parties after his odd appearance last week at President Donald Trump’s Republican midterm convention in Dallas.

“I’m not going to be a Republican!” Fetterman snapped at reporters on Tuesday while waiting for an elevator on Capitol Hill.
