‘I Will Literally Eat Anything’: RFK Jr. Touts His Nonexistent ‘Gag Reflex’

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. again bragged about not having a “gag reflex” in a clip released on Monday, telling USA Today, “I will literally eat anything.”

The interview with USA Today White House correspondent Swapna Venugopal Ramaswamy was released to promote Kennedy’s new YouTube cooking program, The Real Food Show. According to the HHS website, the show promises “practical nutrition advice to help fuel your family” and “easy cooking techniques designed to save you time and money.”

“What’s the most exotic food that you’ve eaten?” asked Ramaswamy. Kennedy has long made headlines for his dietary choices, eating mostly meat and fermented foods, and even going so far as to get the rest of President Donald Trump’s cabinet on board. In 2024, he told reporters that he has a “freezer full” of roadkill. He’s even recalled “cutting the penis out of a road-killed raccoon.” As staffers later clarified, Kennedy feeds the dead animals to his pet birds.

“I will literally eat anything,” promised Kennedy. “I don’t have a gag reflex — let me put it like that. I will eat anything, and I love experimenting with foods. I love all different kinds of foods. When I travel, I’ll eat, you know, even stuff I find on the street —street vendors.”

“What have others been most impressed by?” questioned Ramaswamy further.

“What do you mean by that?” responded Kennedy.

“Is there stuff that you’ve eaten where people are like, ‘Wow, you ate that?'” Ramaswamy pushed.

Kennedy laughed, asking, “You mean like something gross?”

“Yes,” said Ramaswamy. “Maybe gross for others. Not for you.”

“Oh, I don’t know. I’m getting a signal not to answer that question,” admitted the HHS secretary, looking down to pick up his cup of coffee.

Ramaswamy immediately moved on to a question about the “vegan diet.”
