‘F*ck Yeah!’ MAGA Podcaster Theo Von Goes Full Send as Mamdani Insists Netanyahu Should Be Arrested
New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani received an emphatic reaction from podcaster Theo Von after repeating his opinion that the United States should join the International Criminal Court and enforce its arrest warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Appearing on Von’s This Past Weekend podcast, the comedian, who has been outspoken in his criticism of Israel’s operations in Gaza, pressed Mamdani on his past pledge, during his mayoral campaign, to have Netanyahu arrested if he entered New York City.
The ICC issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu in November 2024, alleging responsibility for war crimes and crimes against humanity connected to Israel’s military campaign in Gaza. Netanyahu has rejected the allegations, and neither Israel nor the U.S. is a member of the court.
Mamdani later acknowledged that the mayor’s office lacks the legal authority to enforce the warrant. Still, the mayor told Von, who supported President Donald Trump in the 2024 presidential election, his preferred federal policy remained unchanged.
“If you had your say, we would have arrested the guy, you think?” the host asked.
“If I had my say, the U.S. government would have joined the ICC, honored every single warrant that they’ve issued,” Mamdani replied.
“F*ck yeah!” Von replied.
The exchange came weeks after Netanyahu used an address to the United Nations General Assembly in New York to attack Mamdani, including over the mayor’s accusation that Israel is committing genocide in Gaza.
“It was strange,” Mamdani told Von of Netanyahu’s remarks. “I was having a meeting with the Prime Minister of the Netherlands at the LGBTQ center in downtown Manhattan… and then I get back from that meeting, and it’s like, ‘Oh, by the way, here’s what he was saying at the UN.’”
Von called Netanyahu’s attacks on the mayor “bizarre” and asked if it felt “personal.”
“I mean, all of this is an attempt to distract from responsibility,” Mamdani said. “Name as many people as possible, try and make it into a back and forth. It’s not about me and him. It’s about the fact that he’s the architect of a genocide. And it’s like, yeah, if I was the architect of a genocide, I would probably talk about anything but that.”
“That’s a good point,” Von replied.
