The media world is reeling after CNN international anchor Christiane Amanpour announced on Monday that she will be leaving the network after 43 years.
The news was announced by the network’s media analyst Brian Stelter, who reported that Amanpour would depart next June.
Some, like Zeteo media columnist Justin Baragona, could not deny the timing, given David Ellison’s takeover of CNN parent company Warner Bros. Discovery earlier this month.
Current and former colleagues, as well as various admirers, also weighed in to share fond memories, heartfelt moments, and commendations:
Amanpour’s exit comes not long after she discussed the “ideological realignment” at CBS News and expressed her “concern” over the network’s future.
