James Carville Joins MAGA Takedown of Ilhan Omar Over 2018 ‘Radicalization of White Men’ Comments

Democratic strategist James Carville joined MAGA in trashing Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) as “more trouble” than she’s worth over old remarks about “white men” in a 2018 interview.

In the interview Omar gave to Al Jazeera, resurfaced and circulated this week by pro-Tump influencers like Laura Loomer, she warned: “Our country should be more fearful of white men across our country because they are actually causing most of the deaths within this country,” and urged profiling and monitoring to combat their radicalization.

The video sparked fury among the right online and even from Vice President JD Vance who, called Omar’s comments “genocidal language” and labeled her “sick.”

Vance, however, found an unlikely ally on the issue in Carville who ripped people like Omar as “more trouble than they’re worth” at the Sir Harry Evans Investigative Journalism Summit in London on Wednesday. Carville said:

Ilhan Omar says that white men are responsible for most of the deaths in the United States. So let me get this straight: 69% of the people — why I’m stuck on that number, I don’t know, but 69% of the people going to vote are white. Of that, 48.5 are males. So, I don’t know, my rough math is 33 percent?

That’s a lot of pissed off 33% of people that vote, and that’s a smart strategy? And there are people that agree with her! There are people that actually agree with her! And I think it’s — honestly, I think these people are more trouble than they’re worth.

After Vance’s criticism, Omar defended herself by citing Anti-Defamation League data on white supremacist violence and accused Vance of using a bad-faith smear.

But Carville’s blunt takedown suggests the controversy is flaring up not just as a left vs. right slugfest but as a growing divide inside the Democratic tent.
