‘You Have to Compartmentalize’: Jesse Watters Compares Voting for Paxton to Listening to Michael Jackson

Fox News host Jesse Watters compared voting for Republican Texas Senate candidate Ken Paxton to listening to Michael Jackson, arguing that sometimes “you have to compartmentalize.”

His co-host, Jessica Tarlov, was referencing recent New York Times polling, which she described as “hugely” in favor of “Democrats in states we have no business being up in,” on Monday’s edition of The Five when Watters was asked to respond.

“The new strategy from the president — he’s basically saying, ‘I don’t like [Republican Ohio gubernatorial candidate] Vivek Ramaswamy either. Ken Paxton — the guy sucks. But you’ve gotta vote for him.’ Because you have to compartmentalize,” Watters explained.

President Donald Trump has repeatedly railed on Paxton’s appearance and mannerisms — while still insisting he’s the “greatest attorney general in the United States of America.” Last week, Trump even admitted, “He can be a pain in the a** sometimes.”

As for Ramaswamy, he was brutally roasted online over the weekend after his appearance at the president’s Ohio rally. After inviting a young child on stage and offering to pick him up, the Republican candidate couldn’t quite muster up the strength and nearly dropped him.

“We do this all the time,” Watter continued. “Michael Jackson’s peccadilloes. I ignore them because I love his music.” The late pop star faced decades of allegations that he sexually abused children, which he repeatedly denied. He was acquitted of child molestation charges in a 2005 trial.

Pointing to additional allegations against Jackson that emerged after his death, Tarlov stressed, “He’s dead. He can’t be [convicted]. But he would be.”

“Also, O.J. Simpson — not guilty,” Watters added. “My point is this — the NFL owners do it every time. They’ll sign some jerk because he can flat-out play football, and the guy wins… Everybody doesn’t have the type of charisma that Donald Trump has.”
