‘You Are the Worst of All!’ Trump Snaps At Reporter Asking About Republicans Skipping Midterm Convention

President Donald Trump snapped at ABC News reporter Mary Bruce on Wednesday over her questions about Republican candidates skipping out on Trump’s midterm GOP convention in Dallas.

Trump spoke to reporters on his way to Dallas and he answered multiple questions from Bruce about gas prices and more, but he grew frustrated when she noted some Republicans are skipping the convention despite being in competitive races.

“Several Republicans in competitive races are not coming to the convention. Do you understand why they’re deciding not to come?” Bruce asked.

“Everybody’s coming to the convention. Everybody wants to come, but we only want people that — by the way, we’re going to be sold out tonight, just so you understand. Who are you with?” Trump said.

“ABC News, sir,” Bruce answered.

Trump then went after her and her news outlet and he insisted every Republican they want at the convention will be there.

“ABC fake news. One of the worst — you are the worst of all, in my opinion. The reason that some people are not coming is we don’t have room for 500 politicians We have room for the ones that have a close race, if they’re slightly behind or slightly ahead or tied. But we don’t have room for people that are 35 points up and don’t need to be there. We said stay back and campaign. Every politician that we’ve wanted to be there is there,” he said.

Trump has a long history with ABC and regularly attacks them. The outlet settled a lawsuit with the president that saw them forking over $16 million. George Stephanopoulos issued an apology after Trump sued for defamation over the anchor saying Trump was found “liable” for rape.

The president has also attacked the network over late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, a vocal critic who often targets Trump on his show.

Trump told reporters on Wednesday that he expects a “tremendous crowd” as he talked up his midterm event.

“I think we’re going to have a tremendous crowd tonight. Sold out. It looks very big. It looks very exciting. We’re going to explain what we’ve done. We’ve done things that have never been done in the first term or the second term, frankly, as a president,” he said.
