WATCH: ‘John Barron’ Calls Into C-SPAN to Brag About Iran War and Dunk on ‘Slippery Scaramucci’

A caller who introduced himself as “John Barron” briefly phoned in to C-SPAN’s Washington Journal program on Monday morning, boasting about the Iran war and jabbing at former communications chief Anthony Scaramucci before getting cut off.

The caller, using Donald Trump’s old alias when he planted stories in the New York tabloids decades ago, called in to Washington Journal host Jasmine Wright just before 9 a.m.

“John from Tampa, Florida, a Republican,” Wright said. “Good morning, John, it’s Open Forum.”

“Yes, I would like to say that the war in Iran has been a complete and utter victory for us. This is John Barron. You have slippery Scaramucci lying about the prices –“

That’s when Wright ended the call.

Scaramucci, who made history as the shortest-serving White House communications director, had appeared on the program moments earlier.

While it’s not very likely the caller was actually Trump, the president was definitely watching TV on Monday. Roughly an hour earlier, he attacked Morning Joe on Truth Social, just after 8 a.m.

“Joe Scarborough’s show has been cut way back, and will soon be ‘dead!'” Trump posted to Truth Social. “Too predictable and boring! REALLY BAD RATINGS, just like the rest of MSNOW (MSDNC!).”

Scarborough responded to the criticism in real-time, saying in part, “I asked you not to watch. I specifically said, ‘Please Mr. President, don’t watch our show.’ It’s not good for you. It’s not good for America. Just watch channels where they say sh*t that you like.”
