Trump Says Giants QB Introduced Him ‘The Other Day’ at Rally Held Four Months Ago

President Donald Trump’s definition of “the other day” seems to have broad applicability, as he used the term to describe an event that happened more than four months ago.

Trump held a rally in Mobile, Alabama on Friday night, where he railed against transgender women playing in women’s sports. While doing so, he took a detour and recalled the time New York Giants quarterback Jaxson Dart introduced him at a rally in Suffern, New York back in May. Just as he did at the time, Trump marveled at Dart’s physique. The president also lamented the injury Dart sustained in the Giants’ second game of the season. Dart will miss at least the rest of the regular season after undergoing knee surgery, but Trump claimed the quarterback will “be back very soon.”

Perhaps notably, Trump did not mention Dart by name.

“You know, I had a great quarterback introduce me the other day,” Trump said, referring to the moment that happened on May 22. “He’s a big fan of ours. And, uh, he’s a great guy. Giants. You know who he is? Young, handsome, big, strong guy. And I asked him, I said – happened to get hurt, but he’s gonna be back very soon – he’s great. I said, ‘Let me ask you a question. How do you feel about playing in women’s sports?”

The president went on to say Dart gave him a puzzled look that implied the query was “a stupid question.”

At the rally in May, Trump said of Dart, “I’m looking at the legs. He’s this beautiful guy. He’s got legs like tree trunks! This is not a good thing for women. This would not be good. No, it’s no good.”

Dart took a fair share of heat for appearing at the May rally with Trump.
