Pro-MAGA Pundit Declares ‘I Wish We Had a Nancy Pelosi’ as She Trashes GOP Leaders on Table for Five

Pro-MAGA pundit Caroline Sunshine declared on CNN that she wishes Republicans had a leader as strong as Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) as she trashed GOP leaders.

Sunshine was one of the guests to join CNN’s Abby Phillip on Saturday’s Table for Five where she at one point railed against Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-SD) and House Majority Leader Mike Johnson (R-LA) for not wielding their majorities “effectively” or getting legislation like the SAVE Act passed.

Trump has pushed heavily for the legislation, which would put new restrictions on mail-in voting and require proof of citizenship to vote. Thune has repeatedly said he does not have the votes to pass it.

Sunshine, who served as a press assistant in Trump’s first White House administration, offered praise of Pelosi’s time serving as speaker of the House, saying she knew as a leader how to get party members to fall in line when the time was needed.

The pundit’s glowing review of Pelosi came after Phillip noted Republicans appear to be running on a “pretty thin resume” for the midterms, citing inflated costs and the president’s controversial pardons of people convicted of fraud like former Nikola CEO Trevor Milton.

Sunshine said:

One of my complaints about Republicans generally is we can never seem to just be one team, coalesce around something. You know, I’ll give it to Democrats, like, when Nancy Pelosi was running the House, you know, she knew how to get people to fall in line. And one of the things I watch congressional Republicans always fall prey to is when they are handed power, we often spend it squabbling amongst ourselves rather than actually wielding power effectively.

And I do think the president’s right that there is a perception where voters have always viewed him differently than the rest of Republicans. That’s always been something unique about his political brand. They see him differently than the rest of Republicans, and he is different in many ways. But so many of these Republicans came in on his coattails to Congress. I mean, Republicans do control the House and the Senate, and there is a faction of the Republican base that has not been pleased that something like the SAVE Act hasn’t been able to get passed.

And, you know, you hear from Thune, well, I don’t have the votes, we would have to nuke the filibuster, but I think Republicans expect leadership more like, Nancy. I wish we had Nancy Pelosi in the Republican Party!

Phillip said she felt compelled to somewhat defend Johnson. The House previously passed the SAVE Act.

“I feel like I need to defend Mike Johnson here, because I don’t know what more could Mike Johnson have done for Donald Trump more?” Phillip asked.

“More, more,” Sunshine said.

“I mean, he really has. He’s he’s done everything he has been asked to do,” Phillip said.
