Former Top Fetterman Staffer Trashes Ex-Boss on CNN: ‘Not Interested in Serving!’

Sen. John Fetterman’s (D-PA) former deputy chief of staff, Tré Easton, tore into his ex-boss on CNN, accusing the Pennsylvania senator of being “not interested in serving” his constituents.

The segment, on Monday’s edition of CNN News Central, started with host Brianna Keilar highlighting the mounting tension between Fetterman and his own party. The Pennsylvania senator delivered a video address at President Donald Trump’s Republican midterm convention last week and has spoken out frequently against Democrats on Fox News.

And not to mention, a recent Wall Street Journal report found that Fetterman has skipped or resisted meetings with Pennsylvanians while prioritizing conservative media appearances and his advocacy for Israel, allegations the senator called “lies, half-truths, innuendos, smears” while describing the piece overall as a “hit piece from disgruntled staffers.”

Keilar pointed to posts from a social media account that identifies itself as “a group of former campaign & Senate staffers for John Fetterman who are disgusted with what he’s become,” noting that the account promised to reveal more dirt against the senator on Sept. 14.

Easton, who is not affiliated with the account but worked with him for two years before departing in 2025, told Keilar, “I cannot point to a time in history when staffers have felt compelled to sound the alarm about their principal this way.”

“This man is not interested in doing the job,” the former deputy chief of staff added, stressing that all who have worked for him “all understand that this is not a person who’s interested in doing this job, and who is not interested in serving Pennsylvanians in a real way.”

Detailing his day-to-day on the job, Easton continued, “My job, in practice, was every day begging him to do the bare minimum, begging him to meet with constituents who had traveled from Pennsylvania to talk to him, begging him to interact with his colleagues.”

The ex-staffer ended his CNN appearance with a message to his former boss: “Because he is miserable, he sort of just made people around him miserable, and I would hope that would lead to the conclusion that he should not seek reelection.”
