‘For the Love of God!’ Conservative Radio Host on CNN Begs Trump to ‘Stop Letting People Barf Gold Leaf’ on the WH

Conservative radio host Erick Erickson pleaded with President Donald Trump to “stop letting people barf gold leaf” all over the White House as he warned the executive residence was starting to look like a “French whorehouse.”

Erickson appeared on CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360 on Wednesday night as part of a panel discussing the president’s renovations and construction projects around Washington, D.C., the same day that the Treasury Department announced that U.S. national debt had hit a record high of $40 trillion.

Host Anderson Cooper pressed Erickson on whether he believed the president was “distracting on other issues” with the projects when the conservative said the renovations were preferable to online outbursts that hurt the economy.

“Ah, God almighty, I just wish he would keep doing it and stay off social media and stay out of the cameras. I would rather focus on the renovations than, I mean, we’re at $40 trillion in national debt, and every time he touches it, it gets worse, so just let him focus on the renovations,” Erickson said.

He continued: “He’s surrounded by some smart people who can deal with these other issues. Stay off social media, but for the love of God, Mr. President, if you’re listening, stop letting people barf gold leaf all over the White House. It looks gaudy at this point.”

“Just, I don’t get the obsession with it, but he’s 80 and wants to leave his mark and at this point, I’d rather him do that than be on Truth Social ranting about things that distract the country and drive down the stock market,” he warned.

Cooper nodded to a scene in the book Regime Change, by journalists Jonathan Swan and Maggie Haberman, in which Trump personally applies some of the gold-leaf foil to accents in the Oval Office.

“That’s true! Please stop!” Erickson exclaimed again.

In a final gasp, that made even Cooper laugh awkwardly, the conservative panelist snapped: “It’s starting to look like a French whorehouse.”
