CNN Panel Dumbfounded as MAGA Pundit Argues Economy Is Just ‘Fat’ — And Trump Is the ‘Ozempic’
MAGA pundit Caroline Sunshine floored CNN NewsNight’s panel Monday with a bizarre analogy claiming that the economy is “fat” and that President Donald Trump’s deportation of illegal immigrants was the “Ozempic” needed to solve the problem.
The clash came as Sunshine protested as the panelists discussed an anonymous Trump adviser’s claim to CNN that the midterms were “obviously going to be f*cking rough” on Republicans.
“And if you’re going to focus on just gas prices and groceries,” she bemoaned, “Then of course, Americans-”
“The things we need, right?” co-panelist Yemisi Egbewole quipped. “The essentials.”
“What would you have them focus on instead of the number one issue for Americans, which is the cost of living?” host Abby Phillip chimed in. “So you’re really are going to argue that you should ignore the top issue for Americans and focus on other things?”
“Here‘s what I‘m going to paint the picture for you, the economy right now is like a fat person,” she began.
The camera panned to Egbewole, who smirked.
Sunshine continued: “If you see somebody fat, you go, ‘They‘re not very healthy.'”
“Do I need to take this personally?” Democratic strategist Mike Nellis joked, laughing.
“Actually,” Sunshine continued, “they just need to lose weight. What‘s happening right now is the economy structurally is actually doing better than you think.”
“No,” Nellis cut in, shaking his head.
Sunshine kept going: “But because the gas prices and the groceries are high, it‘s masking that. Right? But let me get into it for you.”
The table erupted as the panelists failed to follow, as the host and other contributors laughed and talked over her.
“Trump is Ozempic!” Nellis laughed.
“Hold on!” Sunshine said. “The labor market is the best it’s been for people without college degrees-”
“That’s not true,” Nellis countered.
“The jobs report was projected to add 52,000 jobs. It added 160,000 people,” she said. “So yes, inflation is down –”
“You cannot argue people out of the fact of their lives,” co-panelist Terry Moran interjected.
“They’re telling you what the problem in their household is and you’re saying no it’s not,” Moran said, as Sunshine talked over him. “Good luck with that!”
“It’s not. I’m saying that the economy is more than just their gas and their grocery prices!” Sunshine shot back. “The administration has to focus on economic wins that they have that are not being talked about. It’s a big deal that people without a college degree have the best labor market in two decades.”
“You wanna know why?” she declared. “Because the best Ozempic for the economy is deporting illegal immigrants out of this country!”
“It balances the labor market so people like it, campaign on it,” she added. “That’s what Trump on the ballot means.”
“Just to be clear,” Phillip said. “You’re telling people that doesn’t mean that they actually experience it, that’s part of the problem.”
Nellis concluded: “You can’t gaslight people into believing that the economy is strong. And I’m so sick of hearing about how ‘you just need to feel it’ – the American people don’t feel it. No, the economy that they’re experiencing is really bad. And it was not great under Joe Biden, now it’s significantly worse.”
