CNN Data Guru Warns of Republican ‘Bloodbaths’ Over Trump 2024 Voters Ditching GOP
CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten sounded the alarm Wednesday on Republicans losing support from 2024 voters of President Donald Trump.
The CNN News Central segment focused on the GOP’s struggle to maintain support from Trump voters ahead of the midterm elections.
According to polling data, Democrats had the support of 2024 Kamala Harris voters to the tune of 92% in the nation’s key Senate races.
Republicans, on the other hand, had just 79% of Trump voters.
“So that’s a 13-point difference here,” Enten said. “And more than that– of course, remember, these 2024 Trump voters, they went for Donald Trump a hundred, so we’re talking about a 21-point decline.
“These are the top types of numbers that allow Democrats to go into these red states. Remember, the key Senate states are overwhelmingly Republican, and this is allowing them to actually win in these states, or at least lead in these states right now, because they’re getting such a large chunk of the Trump base.”
In the House races, Democrats held a similar advantage. The party had the support of 92% of Harris voters, while Republican House candidates had the support of 82% of Trump voters.
“They’re, simply put, not holding on to the Trump base at this point,” Enten continued. “Remember again, Trump won these voters by 100 points. Now we’re seeing a 16-point decline here and a 7-point difference here.
“These are the types of numbers on which Democratic waves are built. These are the types of numbers that lead to bloodbaths. That’s why I said it’s like a lion going into the Trump den and taking a real bite out of it, because these are the types of numbers that allow Democrats to do so well after Republicans did well in 2024.”
