Adam Mockler Scoffs Republicans ‘Crying’ Over Talarico Before MAGA Pundit Gleefully Flips the Script

MAGA pundit Caroline Sunshine gleefully hit back at progressive commentator Adam Mockler as “triggered” after he scoffed at Republican “crying on TV” over Texas Democratic candidate James Talarico while President Donald Trump posts “Lake America” memes.

The exchange came on CNN NewsNight on Wednesday as the panel discussed Talarico and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, with Mockler bristling at what he argued was a “false equivalence” between scrutiny of the two politicians.

“Can I also just say really quickly, I’m so sick of this false equivalence between Ken Paxton and James Talarico,” Mockler said. “You have to look at what they’ve actually done while they’ve held power.”

He continued: “You can’t look at some corny comments that Talarico made and be so offended that you’re, like, crying on TV, but then blind yourself to every single thing that Ken Paxton has done over the past 5 to 10 years.”

Paxton cruised to victory in a primary battle against incumbent Senator John Cornyn (R) after Trump endorsed the state attorney general.

Mockler then rattled off a series of accusations against Paxton while arguing that Republicans had little standing to question Talarico’s judgment: “He let a pedophile go after one day for no reason as the AG. This is someone who was turned in by his own staffers, basically impeached by his own party. Yet we’re supposed to look at Talarico’s judgment. It’s crazy.”

The progressive pundit was not finished, pivoting from the Texas political battle to Trump’s social media activity.

“One more thing. Trump is literally posting videos on Truth Social of him removing the sign of Lake Ontario, putting it to Lake America. It’s absolutely crazy,” he said.

Sunshine, a former Trump White House aide, seized on Mockler’s exasperation rather than engaging with the substance of his argument.

“It’s funny, it’s getting your attention. You’re triggered,” she shot back.
