Ex-Duke University basketball star Kyle Singler posted a series of troubling videos on Instagram detailing his recent struggles.
The 38-year-old posted the videos Tuesday on his Instagram account. In the videos, a visibly unsettled Singler accused former Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski — as well as the basketball program as a whole — of ignoring his pleas for help and abandoning him.
“I need this message to go out to as many people as possible,” Singler said. “Man, Coach K has set me up. Set me up, man. I have no power and I have no house. I’ve reached out to coach, and everybody has turned the other way. I’ve reached out to coach and he has fully dismissed the message. You guys are cutting my power off, breaking into my house, stealing money, ruining my life. Reached out to Coach K and all he did is sit me on the bench. Thanks, man!”
Moments later, Singler claimed he was locked in his own home and had “no freedom anymore.” He also added that he had “people watching my residence” in Oklahoma.
It’s not the first time Singler has made disturbing posts on social media. As noted in a report from TMZ, he’s made similar claims in the past. He was also previously arrested and charged with misdemeanor assault against his girlfriend.
Following his college career, Singler was selected by the Detroit Pistons with the 33rd pick in the 2011 NBA Draft. In 2015, he was part of a three-team trade that sent him to the Oklahoma City Thunder. He last played during the 2017-2018 season.
