‘What the Hell is Going On?!’ MAGA Radio Host Goes OFF on Trump for ‘Grotesque’ Meetings With Mamdani

Staunchly MAGA New York radio host Sid Rosenberg erupted at President Donald Trump on Tuesday over his increasingly cordial relationship with Mayor Zohran Mamdani, demanding to know “what the hell is going on here” after their latest friendly encounter.

Rosenberg, host of WABC Radio NY’s Sid & Friends in the Morning, tore into Trump’s Monday meeting with Mamdani at Gracie Mansion, where the president said the democratic socialist had the “potential” to become a great mayor.

“So, this has gone on way too long, these two meetings at the White House were grotesque, and then yesterday, this nonsense at Gracie Mansion, where the president actually says this guy’s got potential to be a great mayor – who the hell is advising President Trump?” Rosenberg said.

Trump and Mamdani met privately at the mayoral residence while the president was in New York for the United Nations General Assembly. The president later publicly said during a joint presser he wanted Mamdani to succeed, despite the pair’s sharp ideological differences.

Rosenberg, who has repeatedly attacked Mamdani and describes Trump as a friend, said he had contacted White House communications adviser Margo Martin seeking an explanation directly from the president — but no one would talk to him.

“I need to talk with the President. He’s got to explain to me what the hell is going on here,” he said. “Please explain this to me! I understand he still loves New York, so what? So what?! I love New York too. So he still loves New York that means you’re going to buddy up and be nice and smile and compliment a guy that has not done one thing right for this city? Not one thing!”

Co-host Noam Laden suggested the simplest explanation was that Trump and Mamdani genuinely liked one another, pointing to their warm public interactions: “I don’t know but they clearly love each other I mean there’s a bromance –”

“That’s the only logical explanation at this point, is that President Trump likes him, and I don’t know how my president, my friend, the guy that I love, likes this guy,” Rosenberg replied before launching into another broadside against the mayor.

“This guy is a cancer. He’s a terrorist, he’s a jihadist, he hates everybody,” the host railed of Mamdani. “He hates everybody, Italians, Jews, the Irish, the Germans, as I’ve said time and again, if you’re not Muslim he has no use for you. None. What do you mean President Trump likes him? What do you mean? What is he like about him? Everything President Trump does, this guy criticizes and doesn’t just say, I don’t like it, he kills President Trump. He’s evil. His administration is evil. He’s a fascist. He doesn’t come across as somebody who just disagrees with the president, he’s vicious.”

Rounding on the president, he continued: “Of all days, President Trump, your daughter, is Jewish. Your beloved son-in-law Jared Kushner is Jewish. The grandchildren that you love, and you’re a great-grandfather, great! They’re Jewish, and they’re going to meet with this piece of garbage on Yom Kippur? And buddy up to this guy on Yom Kippur? I mean, please help me here.”

“I don’t have any answers. And no one I speak to who’s even close to the president, who’s actually really smart, smarter than these jerk-offs on Twitter, have an answer for me either, other than he really likes him,” he added.

Rosenberg then raised, while repeatedly stressing he had no evidence himself, an allegation relayed to him by an unnamed person in local government suggesting Trump could have a financial interest connected to the Sunnyside Yard project. He said the allegations may be a reason for the Trump-Mamdani “lovefest.”

The project would create a new neighborhood above the railroad tracks in western Queens.

Repeatedly pressed on the idea by Laden, Rosenberg replied: “I am not suggesting anything, I know nothing.”

The host ultimately framed Trump’s friendliness with Mamdani as a political problem for Republicans ahead of the midterms.

“I’m at a loss for words. I love the president, I still do, I really do, but this is hurting a lot of people. A lot of the people are very, very upset. Now, I know he’s not running again, but he is,” Rosenberg said. “Republicans are trying to win all these midterm elections, how does that help? Buddying up to a DSA anti-semite Jew-hating mayor right? Who’s really on the same level as [Abdul] El-Sayed in Michigan or Hasan Piker, how does it help us? How does it help Republicans coming up in about a month and a half? You tell me.”

“It doesn’t,” Laden replied.

“So what is he doing? Again I love the man but what is he doing?” the host snapped.
