Fox News contributor Karl Rove brushed off a blistering attack from President Donald Trump, declaring, “I don’t know what the president is talking about, and with all due respect, I really don’t care.”

Trump lashed out at Rove and Sen. John Cornyn (R-TX) in a lengthy Truth Social post on Thursday, accusing the two Republicans of undermining Ken Paxton’s Texas Senate campaign against Democrat James Talarico and declaring that they would be to blame if Paxton lost.

The president, who endorsed Paxton over Cornyn in the Republican primary, accused Rove of being a “Super RINO” who “shouldn’t be allowed to spew his jealousy on FoxNews.”

“If Ken Paxton loses, it will be because of WEAK and INEFFECTIVE Political Hacks like John Cornyn and Karl Rove,” Trump added.

Fox News political analyst Guy Benson asked Rove about the post during Friday’s edition of his Fox News Radio program, The Guy Benson Show.

“First of all,” began Rove, “sounds like he thinks Paxton’s gonna lose and he’s looking for somebody to blame.”

He continued:

And if I’m weak and ineffective, how could I have done anything to diminish the power of the man who won 96% of Texas counties? I have, since 2019, been the chairman and fundraiser for a voter registration project that, in this cycle, has added 180,000 Republicans to the voter list. So, I don’t know what the president is talking about, and with all due respect, I really don’t care.

Notably, Trump’s tirade comes as Paxton and Talarico remain neck and neck in the polls, with the Democrat maintaining a slight edge. The Republican’s campaign, on the other hand, remains plagued by a string of controversies. Most recently, a Wall Street Journal report revealed that he rang in the 2025 New Year in Dubai with fugitives wanted by U.S. authorities.
