Protesters Crash Pro-Data Center Party in DC, Get Drowned Out By ‘USA! USA!’ Chant

Several protesters crashed a pro-data center party in Washington, D.C. on Saturday night, with one of the tattooed female agitators screeching at the crowd, only to have her yelping drowned out by a loud “USA! USA!” chant.

She didn’t take the protest to her protest too well, though, and immediately threw up a double middle finger combo at the crowd.

“F*ck you!” she mouthed, as the crowd started to boo her.

The wacky scene was captured by HuffPost editor Philip Lewis and shared to X. He also reported the woman shouted “Thank you for using all of our water!”

She then seemed to cheer up a bit and waved to the crowd as she was shuffled off the stage. But right as she was walking off, another red haired protester got on stage and started ranting towards the attendees, all while waving her fingers wildly as if to say “shame on you!” She then looked pretty angry and started shouting even more as she was escorted away.

The loud interruption happened at the “Data After Dark: A pro-Data Center Party” at the Shaw rowhouse. Axios reported the event was hosted by PubKey, “aka D.C.’s ‘crypto-bro clubhouse,'” and was sponsored by the Manhattan Institute, the Bitcoin Policy Institute, the ’76 Crew, and several AI companies. About 900 people attended.

Saturday’s event comes as data centers are one of the few topics a majority of Democratic and Republican voters agree on heading into the midterms. CNN data guru Harry Enten recently called them “electoral poison,” and pointed out 76% of Dems and 60% of Republicans oppose building them in their neighborhoods.

President Donald Trump has went the other way and pushed hard for them, saying communities who oppose building data centers will wind up “backwards and poor.” Trump has also taken an optimistic approach to artificial intelligence, claiming fears about AI going rogue and doing something catastrophic is nothing but a big “HOAX.”
