‘We’ve Been Lied to So Often’: Sean Duffy Unironically Says He Has ‘Hard Time Believing the Government Anymore’

Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said that he, as a sitting member of President Donald Trump’s cabinet, has a “hard time believing the government.”

Duffy appeared on Tuesday’s episode of The Katie Miller Podcast with his wife, Fox News host Rachel Campos-Duffy. Toward the end of the podcast, Miller continued her tradition of asking her guests which conspiracy theories they believed in. Both of them responded with, “Which one don’t we believe in?”

Asked to give an example, Campos-Duffy said she was “with RFK on the vaccines,” referring to Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s debunked assertions that vaccines were dangerous.

Duffy then said he “believed in a lot of them,” including Kennedy’s take on vaccines. He then pivoted to a rant about his general distrust of the American government.

“Here’s the problem that I think we’ve come to is,” Duffy began, “We’ve been lied to so often, and over and over and over again. I mean, even like this Russia collusion, from Russia collusion to Covid, and the lab leak theory, and to vaccines, all of this has just been lie after lie after lie. And I just, I have a hard time believing the government anymore.”
