‘These People Hate Us!’ Joy Reid Admits She Dislikes Right-Wing Americans So Much She Wants to ‘Split the Country’

Former cable news host Joy Reid shared her fantasy of literally splitting the country in two while slamming conservatives as cruelty-loving people who need to make their own “circle jerk of hate.”

Reid joined Wajahat Ali on The Left Hook podcast on Wednesday and she shared her “America A and America B” dream while she and Ali were discussing ICE’s mass deportations, and the shooting and killing of American citizens Alex Pretti and Renee Good by immigration officers in Minneapolis.

Ali also mentioned the deportation of far-right provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos back to the United Kingdom. The move surprised many, considering Yiannopoulos’s right-wing politics. Yiannopoulos said after his arrest and deportation that he is “ashamed” of ever supporting President Donald Trump.

Reid admitted to Ali that she struggles to see people like Yiannopoulos and others as fellow “countrymen.”

She said:

I have to be honest, I struggle with being countrymen with these people. I struggle with the idea that I’m supposed to feel that these are my countrymen. These people hate us. They hate anyone who isn’t them. And then when one of them steps one inch out of line, then they hate them too. They are full of rage, hate, cruelty. They’re mean.

Reid used vocal Trump ally and conspiracy theorist Laura Loomer, who claimed she had previously reported Yiannopoulos to authorities, as the standard by which to judge everyone on the right.

She said:

I mean, Laura Loomer is peak MAGA. She’s actually what they are. They’re all like her. Some of them aren’t as vulgar and outwardly vulgar, but they all think like that and I truly struggle. I mean, the difference between us and them, as you said, is that if we win they get healthcare. When they win, we get destroyed, killed.

Reid then touted former President Joe Biden’s $1.2 trillion infrastructure package from 2021, arguing money was sent to red states, meaning Democrats help people as opposed to doing the “killing” she claims she sees from Republicans.

Reid added that she would agree tomorrow to a deal that would split the country in two, sending liberals one way and conservatives another way. She did not share what the plan would be for independents, Libertarians, people with mixed views, etc.

She said:

I do struggle with the idea that we have to see these people as our countrymen. If you told me tomorrow there was a magical way to split the country in two, like they did with the Sudans and make an America A and America B. And they could just live in America B and be cruel to each other and have a circle jerk of hate and meanness and awfulness and just leave us alone with our liberal, goofy, give everybody healthcare, let everybody vote, let everybody read books — and we could be in our country and they could be in theirs? I promise you I would take that deal.
