Jon Stewart Says Trump-Musk ‘Man Baby’ Fight Was ‘First Time’ MAGA World ‘Had To Live in the World the Rest of Us Are Living In’

Jon Stewart warned the MAGA faithful that the feud between “man babies” President Donald Trump and Elon Musk is a sign of worse things to come.

Stewart was joined by professors Jill Lepore, of Harvard, and Kevin M. Kruse, of Princeton, on the latest episode of The Weekly Show podcast and during a discussion about the president “punishing” critical media outlets and perceived political enemies, Stewart declared that the right’s reaction to Trump and Musk fighting was the “first time” they were living in the world Trump critics and liberals live in “every day.”

“It’s so interesting because the Musk Trump fight, in my mind, and the rights reaction to it, was the first time they had to live in the world that the rest of us are living in. In other words, they saw Trump and Musk go at each other based on personal slights and they each — it was like watching two bad wizards,” Stewart said.

“No, it’s Mothra and Godzilla!” Lepore offered.

Stewart agreed the comparison was better.

Trump and Musk launched into a war of words after the president said he was “disappointed” in Musk’s criticism of his “Big Beautiful Bill,” which Musk and critics argue will only add to the deficit. Things got so heated between Trump and Musk that Trump threatened to cancel Musk’s government contracts while the X owner accused Trump of hiding the “Epstein files” because his name is in them. Musk has since admitted some of his posts went “too far” while Trump has said he’s open to reconciling despite Musk getting a “bit strange” after his work with DOGE.

Stewart argued that conservatives and MAGA faithful being uncomfortable with Trump and Musk’s “tit for tat” fighting is what should be expected from the president at this point.

“The point being that they both start threatening the vindictive consequences based on having their feelings hurt. Musk throws out, ‘I’m going to pull my rockets from the international space station.’ Trump says, ‘I’m pulling away your contract’ and you suddenly realize — don’t you get it? That’s how the rest of us have been living,” Stewart said. “That any minor offense that might trigger the mercurial and vindictive nature of these two man babies means you will suffer the full consequences of their power. And for the right, they were like, ‘I hate this. I hate seeing these guys do this.’ Yeah, welcome to our fucking world!”
