‘I’m Done Using the Term Trans!’ Megyn Kelly Claims Being Transgender Is ‘Not a Thing’
Conservative commentator Megyn Kelly declared she’s done using the term “trans” and she doesn’t believe transgenderism even exists.
In a Tuesday interview with Victor Davis Hanson on The Megyn Kelly Show, Kelly made it clear that she does not believe people can be transgender. The comment came during a discussion about mass shooters who are transgender. Kelly said she would only acknowledge that people can be “gender-confused.”
“By the way, I want to say I’m done using the term trans! Done,” Kelly told Davis Hanson.
She continued:
I will say someone is gender-confused, sometimes they genuinely are, sometimes they’re faking it, but there’s no such thing as trans. That’s not a thing. You can’t transition your gender. We’ve been engaging in this fiction for too long.
Kelly was once much more open to the idea of people being transgender. During her time with NBC News from 2017 to 2019, she covered transgender-related issues and interviewed transgender guests multiple times.
In a 2018 clip, Kelly invited on teenage transgender guests to discuss their journeys and support needed from family and friends.
“Well, the people on stage with me are all transgender kids who want others to know it is possible to transition socially with love and support and acceptance within a family and a community,” Kelly said in the episode.
Kelly also expressed support for transgender people during her time at Fox News in 2016 when she grilled Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick over his opposition to then-new guidelines for public schools. She repeatedly corrected him over his referral to trans women as “men.”
In 2022, however, her position appeared to have shifted. In an interview with Eric Bolling, Kelly blasted a pro-trans segment.
“It is irresponsible to put it on the air like this as a celebration without flagging, for the parents out there who are going through this, significant downsides of jumping onto this without making sure you’re in that very, very small percentage of cases where this gender dysphoria might actually be a thing,” she said at the time.
