‘I See a Future for You’: Sean Hannity Tries to Recruit Karoline Leavitt for Fox News During Podcast

Sean Hannity gave former White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt a not-so-subtle pitch to pivot to a TV career at Fox News.

President Donald Trump announced the sudden news of Leavitt’s departure in August, adding that she would finish the month before stepping down to focus on her family.

He also said that Leavitt would remain one of his “top outside advisers” despite no longer having a formal position within the Trump administration.

Since then, there’s been a great deal of speculation regarding both Leavitt and her former post.

At the time of this writing, the Trump administration has not named Leavitt’s successor, and Leavitt hasn’t announced any concrete plans for her future. Multiple former press secretaries, like Jen Psaki and Kayleigh McEnany, have traded the briefing room podium for TV.

During a conversation on Tuesday’s episode of Hang Out with Sean Hannity, the titular host said he envisioned a television future for Leavitt. He even pitched a title for a potential Fox News show. The conversation continued:

HANNITY: And you’re going — you’re working on that decision now?

LEAVITT: Yes, yeah.

HANNTY: I mean, honestly — I’m just being an honest broker here — I see a future for you in television if you want one. But this is not a new statement from me to you.

LEAVITT: That’s true.

HANNITY: We’ve had that conversation–

LEAVITT: Many times.

HANNTY: Almost from the beginning, I said I can see, you know, “The Briefing with Karoline Leavitt” coming up on the Fox News Channel.

LEAVITT: Well, for now, I’ll just keep being a guest on your show anytime you want.

Among the most notable names thrown around as Leavitt’s potential successor is CNN’s Scott Jennings. Although he’s publicly played coy when the topic comes up, sources close to the Trump administration have suggested he’s privately pushed for the role.
