‘I Can’t Believe We Went To This War’: Joe Rogan and Theo Von Trash Trump’s Decision to Go Into Iran

Podcasters Joe Rogan and Theo Von, who both backed President Donald Trump in 2024, ripped the president’s decision to wage war in Iran.

Trump addressed the nation on Wednesday in a 20-minute speech that provided little in the way of new information and instead repeated his prior public statements about it. He reiterated that the war will take another two to three weeks, demanded Iran reopen the Strait of Hormuz, and also called on other countries to find a way to reopen the vital waterway, through which 20% of the world’s oil flows. As Trump spoke, oil futures surged and continued to do so on Thursday.

This week, the U.S. sent a third aircraft carrier strike group to the Middle East, as thousands of U.S. soldiers have either been deployed to the region or are on their way.

Von appeared on Thursday’s edition of The Joe Rogan Experience, where the two touched on the history of Iran and the West, including the 1953 overthrow of Iran’s democratically elected government at the hands of forces backed by the U.S. and the U.K.

“What do you think is gonna happen?” Von asked Rogan. “You think we’re gonna be ok?”

“I hope so, of course. I don’t know,” Rogan replied. “I’m confused. I can’t believe we went to this war. When we started bombing Iran, I was like, ‘This can’t be true.'”

“And what about Lebanon?” Von said, referring to Israel’s ongoing invasion of its northern neighbor. “And it’s like, just f*cking stop it. What do you need?”

“Well, they’re trying to supposedly, they’re trying to stop the terrorists,” Rogan answered.

Von laughed.

“That’s crazy, though,” Von said. “You’re the fucking terrorists! You know what I’m saying? Like, if you wanna stop them, f*cking stand in front of the fucking mirror and start there.”
