NY Post IDs Tucker Carlson as a ‘Nicotine-Pouch Salesman and Onetime Conservative Pundit’ in Article on His Endorsement of El-Sayed

Well, he’s not a Republican anymore, so it certainly fits.
The New York Post had a noteworthy description on Tucker Carlson on Sunday, with writer Ryan King branding the ex-Fox News star a “nicotine-pouch salesman and onetime conservative pundit.” That description is technically correct, considering Carlson recently announced he ditched the GOP and has been hocking his ALP nicotine pouches for the last two years.
Carlson, of course, was once part of the same Murdoch media family as the Post.
King’s description came at the start of his article on Carlson all but endorsing Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed over Republican Mike Rogers in Michigan. He also pointed out Carlson defended El-Sayed’s past comment on how “9/11 scarred our country in profound ways, but what we did after 9/11 scarred millions of other people”; Carlson said El-Sayed was “obviously right” in his newsletter.
As for being a former conservative, Carlson announced in June he was finished voting for Republicans because they had “betrayed” the nation.
“How could I or any American voter support a political party that’s not loyal to the United States,” Carlson said. “That puts the interests of a foreign country above those of its own citizens. It’s not possible to vote for people like that, and I’m not going to.”
Carlson was referring to Israel, a country he has been fixated on recently.
“What we know for certain is that the United States went to war with Iran — a war we are losing, that we’ve effectively lost already — because of pressure from the prime minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu,” he said.
He claimed a month later President Donald Trump was too “weak” to stop Israel from strong-arming him into the Iran War. Carlson was later seen in a picture alongside Marjorie Taylor Greene and lame duck Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) plotting a new “America First” party.
And when it comes to nicotine pouches, Carlson has not hid his love for them over the years. He launched his ALP pouches in 2024 — and has since been mocked by right-wing pundit Ben Shapiro for having the product manufactured in India, despite Carlson’s claims to care about the Average American Worker.
