‘You’re Like a Little Puppy!’ Chris Cuomo Erupts on Bill O’Reilly for Depicting Himself as Trump Critic

It was a battle of the network stars on NewsNation Monday night as Chris Cuomo and Bill O’Reilly went at it.

Discussing the Natalie Harp saga on Monday’s On Balance With Leland Vittert, Cuomo repeatedly jabbed at O’Reilly in a dispute that lasted more than 10 minutes.

It began as O’Reilly called out Cuomo for refusing to criticize Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) for his comment about Harp, a top aide to President Donald Trump, who has been thrust in the spotlight as a result of Ossoff’s remark at a rally earlier this month.

“When I asked Chris last week to criticize Ossoff for what he did, he did not do it,” O’Reilly said. “Instead, he turned it on me and said, ‘OK, you SAY nothing about Trump’s insults.’ That’s not true, and we provided NewsNation with a montage.”

Cuomo shot back: “The idea that you are a clear-eyed critic of the president of the United States named Donald Trump is a joke, and only you would believe it.”

When Vittert suggested they all watch the montage — one of several times he tried to interrupt the dispute — Cuomo was still salty.

“Yes, take your cherry-picked clips, please,” he said.

After the montage, Cuomo was left chuckling.

“I didn’t even know who that was!” he said, laughing. “You call Ossoff a gutter snipe, and you get all angry. And you’re never like that with Trump. You’re like a little puppy. And look, that’s OK. But you’re gonna go on your show, call me a Democrat. You’re gonna go on the radio show with that little bastard in the morning who lies about me, and you sit there smugly and laugh about it. And then you think you’re gonna come on my show and be a fair broker? That’s not what you are. You play in the pigpen with the MAGA people. That’s what you do, and you watch them be ugly, and you’re OK with it. That’s what you do, OK? So own it.”

“You don’t care whether what you’re saying is true or not,” O’Reilly fired back.

“Oh, I don’t care?” an indignant Cuomo replied. “You just said you go after the president. You didn’t take a tone with him once. There’s not one clip about what he said about Megyn Kelly. There’s not one clip  about what he just said about Kristen Holmes. There’s nothing about Kaitlan Collins. Why not?”

“I’ve got 50 clips!” O’Reilly shouted. “This isn’t a telethon!”

Cuomo shot back: “I don’t care if you have 50 clips. You do nothing but make content. You’ve been on TV for 500 years — that’s not the point.”

At one point, Vittert interrupted to say he’d been listening to the pair argue for 10 minutes and “I don’t even know what you’re arguing about.”

“I know you can’t, but that’s OK. People at home will,” Cuomo snapped.

The back-and-forth carried on for nearly 15 minutes in total.
